This tool provides an interactive map on the relative importance (frequency of infected fields observed on field survey) of the three wheat rusts – stem, leaf, and yellow rust, per country and year. The tool provides access to data from countries in Africa, Middle East, and Central-West-South Asia.
How to use the Importance of Rusts tool:
- Select year of interest via the radio buttons. [Note: you can select only one year at a time]. The relative importance (frequency of infected fields observed on field survey) of Stem Rust (black bars), Leaf Rust (brown bars) and Stripe Rust (yellow bars) will be automatically displayed.
- Map Controls:
- Pan: Hold down the left mouse key and drag to move the map, or use the Google maps pan tool by clicking on the arrow in the direction required.
- Zoom: Use the Google maps zoom slider bar to zoom in (+) or out (-), or, zoom via scroll wheel on the mouse.
- Map Display: The default display setting shows Google maps Terrain. It is possible to change the display to show either Google Street Map or Satellite images. To display Street Map, click on the Google Map button and uncheck Terrain. To display Satellite images, click on the Google Satellite button.
